Targeting: settings to direct traffic and influence its volume
In a nutshell, targeting helps you narrow the traffic for your campaign. There are multiple settings that determine the direction of traffic, which affects its amount.
Main parameters
You can set up the needed locations and devices for your ads.
In case you need all traffic, for example, traffic from all available browsers—just leave the fields blank.
Use Device Vendors, Languages and IP2 Location type filters only if they are really important. This can drastically reduce the traffic you receive.
GEO targeting and connections. Countries, regions, carriers
Geographical targets can be set as countries and regions.
If none of the countries are selected, your campaign will buy traffic from all countries.
ℹ️ Countries lets you select your desired countries you want your traffic for. Certain countries have an additional geographical option called Regions. This option helps you narrow your traffic down to a specific region. Selecting Regions unlocks an option to be even more specific and lets you select Cities.
ℹ️ Connection type lets you select, what type of internet connection target device should be on in order for the ad to be displayed.
- LAN / Wi-Fi (wired connection)
- Mobile carriers
ℹ️ Carriers (available with Mobile carriers connection type and countries chosen): Choose a carrier or several of them for your campaign. Only the ones available in the chosen country will appear in the list.
You can select one or multiple countries at once. You can aslo set the parameters in two ways.
Manual mode—by default
Choose the needed GEO and connection type manually.
IP Ranges mode
Just enter the needed IP ranges. Learn more about here:
- IP Range targeting: Overview of IP ranges list →
Device type
ℹ️ Device type: The ad will be displayed only on the chosen device preset.
ℹ️ Device vendors (available with Mobile and/or Tablet device type): Your ad will be shown only at the specific vendor devices.
Other parameters
Languages
The Languages selection lets you choose, what lingual demographic do you target. User's device language also matters.
Note that language list is not affected by previously selected GEO targets.
Please, consider choosing your GEO/Language targets in harmony. For instance, if your campaign is GEO targeted at Poland, but your landing Language is Thai, it would probably generate very little if no traffic at all.
Browsers
Your ad will be shown to users with the selected browsers.
You can also choose a starting browser version. The number you enter means your ad will be shown on that version and all newer ones.
Example for browsers
The latest Chrome version is 135.
If you select Chrome and type 128, your ad will be shown to users with Chrome versions from 128 to 135.
Operating systems
Operating systems let you limit your targeting to the devices with specific operating systems on board. You can also specify the starting version of each operating system you choose. The number you enter means your ad will be shown on that version and all newer ones.
Example for operating systems
The latest version of Windows is 11.
If you choose Windows and type in 10, your ad will be shown on Windows 10 and 11.
IP2 location types
Your ad will be shown at the devices using the IP2 Location database.
